I have a DC 1000 (single strobe). Bought camera in 2009 way before I was ready, meaning I had maybe 12 dives under my belt and buoyancy terrible.

I used it 2 times in fall of '09 and again in April of '10 before I put it up until I was a halfway competent diver. I opened up the door of strobe today and there is a off white crusty crap on the hinge side and smells like a burnt up toy train.

I know I got to get it serviced or replaced but does anyone have a clue?

I don't think it was flooded as I always inspect seals. I did leave batteries in a couple of months before I decided I needed to work on buoyancy.
