Kaaralex - Top marks to your buddy for having lots of spare air - wasn't there an agreed fee in Euro per breath :D .. ? See you over Taiwan again.

This coming weekend (last in Feb) - with a smaller group I will again be on GI, and weather permitting hoping those Hammerheads are still cruising around - wish me luck ! I'll be with my normal buddy and usually her air lasts longer than anyones, so with a bit of luck I can get longer dives in !!

AmberTiger - Book me in for next years trip :D

    Cheers

i think it's wise to charge by bar.. an underwater credit-card machine sounds like the perfect tool for any helpful diver. - did you get your gauge sorted out?

step 1) signal to buddy out of air
step 2) donor asks for cash or card using hand gestures
step 3) first payment, then provide alternative reg, join arms and signal to go up.
    step 4) rinse and repeat

Just pick a wealthy buddy, step 3 can be exchanged for escrow, i'll gladly be the banker in this game of monopoly.

Hope you guys have a fun time there. i'm still missing Green Island and sitting in smokey old cold shanghai.

FYI is it time to bury this thread/close it as it is misleading by subject

    NiHao,

Not sure about the underwater credit card machine --- especially this weekend with my Bud !! .... as she loves using the credit cards as it is, and would hate to give her her another excuse to use them - or mine !!

Currently in Manchester due to take off within the hour, landing Taipei 20:30 Friday night - on the road at 05:30 Saturday morning - but this time the co pilots all have driving licences and are eager to drive the shiney car - so with a bit of luck I can get a kip !!

Staying at same place, so fingers crossed Sunday will be able to tell you all about the Hammerhead that recognised me and posed for a few photos, unless of course young Ev gets on Facebook with my camera again !

Enjoy Shanghai - and quite agree about this thread, will start a new GI thread with tales of the coming weekend.

    Cheers

A few years ago Mr Hu the current captain and chief guide on GI used to have a small white slate attached to his AA source which said 1 breath = NT$100 (about US$3:00 for those of you who don't know the exchange rate) he laughing explained that this was to discourage inexperienced divers going on his boat. he also had a little pencil attached to keep tally! :)

Hope you get good dives on the hammers tomorrow and Sunday. Look forward to hearing out it all went. I'll be up in Hualien this weekend.
