On Saturday May 12 I'll be doing a Dive Emergency Management Class. This intensive 8 hour course covers AED, O2, Advanced O2 and Hazardous Marine Life Injuries. This course, along with current CPR, First Aid and Rescue, qualifies you to become a Dive Emergency Specialist, DAN's highest non-teaching rating.

Cost $150.00 and includes books. (Separately these course would cost twice that)

Date: Saturday, May 12 starting at 9:00 AM

Location: Auburn, WA

Email ValcanERRN@aol.com for directions, questions or further info.

Thanks!

Sign me up! And I'll see you on the 12th.

Good Deal, I was wishing that someone would offer his class. I just read the course outline again http://www.diversalertnetwork.org/training/courses/demp/index.asp

Looks like a great opportunity to pick up the DAN knowledge in one sitting without having to take four separate classes and sit through the DCI/AGE overlap.

I hope to be there. Do you have a limit on class size ?

tnx don O

Hi Guys

Sorry for the delay in replying, I was out of town diving in Nanaimo (!). No, there is no limit on class size.

Please email me at ValcanERRN@aol.com for confirmation, payment etc. I'll send books out when payment received; the day goes by much smoother if you've had chance to read thro the book ahead of time.

Looking forward to it!

-Valerie

Valerie is GREAT about getting the book out quickly too. I sent her my check and within a couple of days the book arrived in the mail. :D Looking forward to the class, thanks for offering it!

PS Valerie, the prereq for the class is current CPR certification. Do we need to bring our cards, or is our word good enough?

I'll trust your word :D

The Dive Emergency Management Provider class will be held at Underwater Sports in Federal Way, where Walt Amidon graciously offered me classroom space. We'll be starting at 9:00 AM, and there is still space available.

Alternatively, if anyone wants just the O2/Advanced O2 and AED combo, that can be taken in the morning for $100.00. If anyone wants just the Hazardous Marine Life Injuries component, that is $85.00 for the afternoon. Books included with fees.

-Valerie :D

One week from today is the DEMP class, being held at the Federal Way UWS. If anyone else is interested please let me know ASAP so I'll be sure to have enough books and materials.

Thanks!
