Dallas area diving August - December?

I'm going to be working in Irving, TX, the next six months. I typically work 6 11-hour shifts with one day off a week. Trying to decide if its worth hauling my gear with me to dive my one day off. Appears Athens Scuba Park is 90 miles away. I'm used to lake diving and just love being underwater but a four hour round trip is brutal.

Any closer places to dive around Dallas? I could always drive to Athens and rent a local hotel the night before and I'd be willing to do that. Also, does anybody know of any groups I can tag along with? I'm super easy-going, will have my stress and rescue certification this weekend and am a very low maintenance diver! I need Texas dive buddies!

I'd also be willing to check out Clear Springs, which looks to be 60 miles away!

Clear Spring Scuba Park is "clearly" different and Lake Murray (near Ardmore, Ok) are much
closer. They're easier to do as a day trip from Irving and popular places to dive for people
living in the D/FW area.
