I'm looking to complete my rig and need to add a computer. My LDS suggested the Suunto D6 which is a little out of my price range right now. I was originally looking at a Vyper or Mosquito. Well, the short of it is, the owners (and friends of mine) said they would rather put me in a D6 and that they would loan me dive computers for all trips/dives for free until I could save up. I just want to make sure that the D6 really is that much better. It seems pretty honest to me, given that they will loan me computers for free, but I just want a little more input.

I had a Vyper and loved it. I upgraded to the D9 for two reasons 1) air integration and 2) the ability to wear as a watch.

Having said that there's not much difference between a Vyper and a D6 other than the new RGBM deep stops algorithm plus the ability to wear as a watch.

Any Suunto computer is a great choice!

Cheers.
