D2 surface durability vs. D1?

I really like the compact size of the D2 and I don't intend to ever dive doubles, so the 5th port is not a needed feature for me. For those of you that have had the D2 for awhile, how has the anodized black finish held up? I used to have a D1 (I had to sell it awhile back for funds) and the chrome finish was amazing. I don't know much about anodizing, so I wanted to get some feedback on how it compares to the chrome. Thank you.
 
Nevermind. While DRIS is having the "Piggy" promo, I went ahead and got the D1 cold since I have had first hand experience with it.
