A curious observation, probably not one which will revolutionize the field of marine biology, but still another sign how bright cephalopods are: I observed how a cuttlefish would very selectively hide under sea urchins (Diadema sp.). The cuttlefish would rush between urchins, and change its colors on the way between two urchins. Also, it seemed to reproduce the shadow of the spines by modulating the patterns on its skin. I saw two different Sepia do this during one night dive in Siquijor, Philippines.

Dude. So cool. And for the record, cuttlefish ARE aliens.

Thank you.
