Heading down in a little less than two weeks and watching the weather it shows most days have a decent chance of rain. Coming from the PNW I am familiar with the concept but wondering what the day to day weather is really like. Are these brief rain bursts? Sprinkles? Downpours?

Been to Bonaire over 10x. The island is usually very dry year round. During "rainy" season there are occasional downpours that are short lived. I look at , Caribbean Netherlands 10-Day Weather Forecast | Weather Underground
and concentrate on Percent cloud cover and rainfall amount. 100% clouds and high rainfall amount is a storm. 50 -75% with .2 inches is a 30 min rain followed by broken clouds.
When the sun is out it is hot. 50% -75 % clouds are welcome. Nov is "rainy" season with a wopping 3.5 inches of rain for the month.

Hi @dynoboy

My wife and I just spent 2 weeks on Bonaire, October 16-30, our 11th visit. The weather was very warm, low 90s, with a mix of sun, and clouds and sun. As usual, we had short periods of light to moderate rain. It was nice when it cooled things off a bit. The water temperature was very warm, 85-86 degrees.

Have a great trip, let us know how it goes.

I'm currently on the island and today was the first drops I felt during the day since arriving last week.
It has rained during the night a few times.

Is there bleaching going on?

A 15-30 minute afternoon shower isn't unusual, followed by returning sunlight that causes the pavement to steam. Nothing to worry about!

There is still noticeable bleaching happening, but it looks better than a year ago at this same time.
Sites north of Karpata are still closed.
Water was warmer than last year also. This is the first time I was able to wear neoprene shorts and a thermal top.

Not sure why the sites North of Karpota are closed. I dove them every day in Aug. Are you sure they are closed?

Sorry my map skills are lacking. The sites in Washington Slagbaai National Park are still closed.

Thanks, this is helpful! We leave for Bonaire tonight for 9 day trip and that weather underground link is really helpful. Cheers!
