My friends in Indonesia are looking to do cheap 5-7 days Komodo diving and they found this liveaboard. It is definitely low end of market with old wooden boat with basic cabins, but if the diving is good I don't know mind. Does anyone have any experience with them or the cheap liveaboard they run. Any info appreciated.

Can't give you any review of Current Junkies, but if you look at the cost of the trip vs. the dive company and number of dives, consider this ...

Current Junkies wants Rp 10,000,000 or about 890 USD for 14 dives. A company like Divine Diving (there may be other similar companies), charges Rp 6,400,000, about 570 USD, for 13 dives, and they are a known quantity with a good reputation, great guides, and their boat certainly looks better, IMHO.

Watch the Current Junkies Promo video. This trip is for divers looking to experience the Komodo Currrents at there strongest and not for people looking for a flash liveaboard with all the mod cons. From what I have heard Shannon and his crew have a lot of experience diving Komodo. This trip wont be for everybody.

Go with CN Divers, Condo is the yoda of komodo and the cheapest. Around $120 a day. its very budget and simple but there is no one more experienced than him.

I'm thinking "current junkies" is not the people I want to go with in a current swept place like Komodo. Unless I want to wake up in Australia...

I would like to dive with Current Junkies in the future when I'm a more experience diver.
