Diving Casino Point again on the 15th. Can anybody report current conditions? Viz, water temp?

Also, did they put those darn rocks back? In January, after they moved the rocks around, low tide diving was considerably more difficult. Those rocks proved to be a formidable obstacle at low tide. Did they move them again or are they in the same place? Thanks all!

I was down at the park Sun to see friends, but didn't dive. Reports were of about 25' visibility, but there were a number of classes in the park both days. Was heading down this afternoon to check today's conditions, but there were ambulances heading down there for what sounded like a non-serious dive-related injury (knee) so I didn't go there.

My computer registered between 55-57 degrees F for water temperature at depth for dives I did from Friday thru Sunday this past weekend.

Sounds good. Here at the Laguna Beach reefs we've been getting about 8-10 viz and 2-4 surf. Looking forward to a bit better conditions.

If those rocks are still there, hope I hit high tide.

runway1, looks like I'll be heading out to dive the park Saturday also...and according to the Express verbally downtown LongBeach will be opperational starting Saturday... They promised a 24 hour notification if we switch to SanPedro... so it's 6:15 am over and 3:45pm back...yeah!

From what I saw this weekend, it looks like the rocks that were moved away from the stairs were moved a little ways back by storm wave action. However it is still quite a drop from the lowest stair at low tide.

Are you with SCD? I'm the good looking guy with the proper haircut.

If all goes as planned, (and it rarely does) my lovely bride and I will be at the park trying out our brand spankin’ new drysuits!

Just did a dive at the park. Max depth 80' for 50 min. Instructors I know were reporting 35 ft vis, but I would put it at 20... at least in the areas of the park I was in. I heard it was much better in the vicinity of the wrecks.

There was a current that really kicked up just before high tide... both the giant kelp (Macrocystis) and the invasive Japanese Sargassum filicinum were blowing horizontal and whipping around causing kelp snags. Orbital surge in the shallows made filming next to impossible above 25 ft. I didn't bother with a second dive. However, I think conditions were much better mid morning during slack.
