Damselfish:
Why? That's like saying experienced divers won't care for Bonaire, as the diving and everything is pretty similar especially if you dive at the right places in Curacao. It's not "advanced" diving skillwise for the most part, but plenty of critters, nice corals, what's not to like?

You beat me to the question Damselfish, like she said, WHY?
We dove Curacao in July and enjoyed it but then again, I don't like 3 hr boat rides, 6ft seas and 20 minute bottom times.

Herman,
All the more reason to stay at an easy dive spot. I love to grab my gear and walk into the water. Since I am not the most experienced diver, boat rides & 6' swells are my idea of a nightmare. Where did you stay while in Curacao?

We stayed at the Holiday Beach Resort. It's close to town, we walked to dinner most evening, nice grounds and the house reef was fairly nice. The dive shop left a lot be desired in some respects but for our needs it was actually nice. Their boat was out for repair and their rental equipment was not something I would dive but on the other hand, they basically gave us the keys to the gear room and we were pretty much free to do as we pleased. We had complete access to tanks whenever we wanted. We were only doing shore dives so the boat was not a big deal.
The diving conditions I was refering to are very common here in NC. We have some great wreck dives but they come at a price.

gangrel...we'll be staying at sunset waters in Feb. What kind of problems did you experience with the resort?

I guess the main problem we had there was with the resort manager himself. Let's just say it came to our attention from talking to some of the staff that he had some...personality issues. Don't really want to slam the guy publically, but if you want to know more, pm me and I'll fill you in.
