Hi all, my husband and I are headed to Bonaire in November. Due to AA's new PITA policy (ie. You can try to fly but we'll make it as difficult as possible!), we are having to route through Curacao, then taking a puddle jumper to Bonaire. Our flight into Curacao gets in around 8pm and we won't be able to get to Bonaire until the next morning because apparently they don't have late night flights anymore. If anyone knows differently please let me know!

So, we need a hotel in Curacao for 1 night, close to the airport with shuttle service. Can anyone please help? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated--thanks! :D

Next to the airport is a Howard Johnson Inn with view on the airstrip. No nightlife at all.
Within 10 miles you're downtown with more hotels (and restaurants, bars, etcetera). Check them out at the Otrobanda side, such as Hilton, Holiday Beach, Floris Suite, Marriott, Clarion, Hotel Otrobanda and more.

There's an airport hotel. Curaçao Airport Hotel | Bon Bini Curacao

The next closest would probably be the Hilton or Marriott in Piscadera Bay. The Hilton advertises being 10mins. from the airport, the Marriott is next door. No shuttle at the Marriott. It's by far the $$nicer of the two.

All your options are here: Curacao Hotels - Large Hotels | Bon Bini Curacao

Our flight into Curacao gets in around 8pm
How close to around 8pm? There's an 8:15PM DAE flight. And it's a really small airport. Don't know if your bags would make it though. http://www.flydae.com/

I wouldn't count on that. The airport may be small, but it can also be slow.
The incoming AA-flight is International with all kinds of security checks. Tonight they are sceduled to arrive at 7.40 PM from Miami and the DAE departs at 8.15 PM. Not enough time.

Thanks for the info everyone, we really appreciate it! Steve, we checked into that flight but our AA flight gets in at 8:05pm so there's no way we'd make it. We will just stay in Curacao and fly to Bonaire the next day, that will be much easier. I'll check into the hotels you guys suggested, thanks again!

If you are flying on DAE be aware of their 20 Kg weight restriction. The will bag you for anything over that and make you pay it in cash (no travelers checks, credit cards etc.).

Divi Divi Air will usually just put your luggage on the next flight flight without charging you if they are tight on weight.
