Hi I lived on Curacao for 6 years and I know the whole ocean encounters staff.Great people. It's Monica and Nolo with their 2 sons Christian and Leo.
One of my good friends actually set up the whole kids seacamp. You'll love it, it gives you time to do your own diving. After the dive you can also enjoy the seaquarium or just go into town.
They have a cute little restaurant on the beach, please say hi to Bianca for me.
Another good restaurant what I think is a must go is tu tu tango, located behind the movies in punda.
A good lunch is the local market called marcha bien also in punda. Local houswives cook local meals. It opens from 12 till 2 pm.
For a sunday a good trip is the insulinde sail trip to Klein Curacao.
If you are an experienced diver you might want to help clean the mediator. An archelogical site. They are cleaning a wreck that sunk somwhere in the 1800's. If you do go there ask for information at the maritiem museum or call silent immersion 767 7014 This dive shop know's how to get in touch with Theo. Tell Theo Martin says hi.
Just a beach day? Go to grote knip or porto marie.
You can rent cars easily on the island and the driving is easy as well.
You don't need to bring any fancy clothes, everything is very casual. Mind you, if you plan to eat at restaurants with ac, bring a sweater or so. Larry's is a great steak house, but very cold.(located on the caracasbaaiweg) Another good steak house is Rodeo, here you definetly have to tell them we said hi, we used to go there at least once a week.
Another thing that is really famous in Curacao is the sunday nght happy hour on mambo beach, you can take the kids, it starts at 5. at 6 it moves one spot over to wet and wild and you can enjoy mambo's sunday night bbq. You can walk here from your hotel.
Don't forget to bring sunscreen, the wind always blows, so you don't feel the heat and you get burned without notice.

If you have any more questions let us know!

have fun and tell everyone hi from MArtin & Brenda (It's a small island, so we know most of the people who have lived there for the last few years.)
