Hi! My husband, 7 month old baby and I are all taking our first trip to Curacao in a couple weeks. I am planning on bringing all the baby's food with us, but I was also hoping we could stop at a market and get some snacks for us "big kids" so we don't have to eat at the resort restaurants for every meal. We are staying at the Kura Hulanda Resort. How far are the nearest grocery stores/food markets from our hotel? Any suggestions for how to go about getting some (reasonably priced) snacks and breakfast stuff? Getting nervous and excited!!

The west end where you are stayin is about 30 minutes from town. I imagine there is some kind of market between there and town but don't know myself. Have a great time, that resort looks really sweet.

Because this is ScubaBoard.... you are going to the LODGE Kura Hulanda to dive, right?
From the airport, exit right. At the roundabout with giant lizard and ugly "Gateway to the Future" creation, go 1/2 way around. At the second set of lights (approx 1/2 mile) take a right and Centrum Supermarket will immediately be on your left.
Shop before you head out to Westpunt.
For a local option; take a left at the first set of lights and a left at the next set of lights. L'Esperamos will be on your left.
Make your way back to the rotary and head toward Westpunt. Drive about a half hour. You'll see Jaanchies Restaurant on your left. Take a right across the street and a left between the cemetery and the ball field. Drive less than a mile to the Lodge beeping to say "Hi" to David and Sunshine when you drive past.
Take note of the large church you'll see in the town of Barber. When you need more groceries, Barber is about 10 miles from the Lodge. Coming from Westpunt, take a right across the street from the church. There is a small toko at the bottom of the hill but up on the top on the right is a much larger (green) store. You'll find almost everything you need there except for a lot of produce and dairy products. All the wine is on top of all the shelves. If you go during the day, continue in the same direction. There is a bakery on the right. At the end of the road, take a right and it will bring you back to Westpunt, passing through Santa Cruz, Lagun and Knip. Curamap, Online Roadmap for Curacao There aren't very many roads, it's easy to get around.

And be sure to dine at Sol Food!!!! (Sunshine is too modest to toot her own horn, so I'll do it for her!)

Hi jsmotek,

We have two Kura Hulanda, one is the lodge and the other one in otrabanda.
If you want to have more precise directions to what's in the neighborhood. telle me where you are staying. In the West punt area or in the Otrabanda area.
