Just booked the Marriott Curacao for April 5-12. I've been there before (Thanksgiving 2001) and really enjoyed the staff and facilities.

Anybody want to join in?

Hi Paul,

I'm planning a trip to Curacao in March or April - haven't decided yet when to go, but I'm flexible date-wise.

I go to Curacao at least once every year to visit my dad. When I'm there I try to dive every single day and I'm always looking for a buddy because most of my local friends don't dive. I grew up there and know most of the sites and I always rent a car. A lot of the time I get stuck buddy-less and then end up having to go to one of the local dive shops or hotels so I can dive with a group. I've also done several day trips with the Dive Bus which were a lot of fun, but it's great having a buddy so you can do your own thing - go where you like, when you like, without having to take an entire group into account...

Is this something that would appeal to you?

Cheers, Johanna

I'm solo, and like the idea of storing my gear at the dive shop at the Marriott, so I feel obligated to do some diving with them. However, my afternoons should be free to do the Hotel wall, or some off-site sites a few days. My wife doesn't dive, so I'll be buddy less for the week. I had considered the Dive Bus for at least one or two trips that week.

Since I haven't heard back (yet) from either op, my dive plans are up in the air.

PM me if you want to dive together that week.

Hi there Paul,

Tried to PM you and it didn't work for some reason so please forgive this public reply.

We've been having tremendous problems with our internet connection over the last couple of weeks and it looks like your email to us was one of the ones that we didn't receive, and hence why we haven't got back to you.

Sincere apologies but if you could re-send us your email, hopefully we'll get it this time around??? Fingers crossed anyways; this is one of the downsides of living on a Caribbean island!

Many thanks,
Suzy

So, it turns out I'm not going to Curacao, after all. Airfare jumped from $600 to $880 in the week I was contemplating booking this trip. Given my wife's tastes in hotels, there's no slack available to me there, so I scrubbed the trip.

Curse this weak dollar!
