anybody know what the viz is like? Or the temperature? I am assuming the temps are similar to Dutch...you can get away with a 7mm but you'd rather dive dry.

That would be a bad assumption regarding temperatures :)

The surface can get into the high 70s. Below 20 ft, it doesn't really get above 40ish. The one time that I was at dutch, it was 58 degrees at 60ft.

Vis varies on depth and season. Some places are 40ft, some are 5ft.

:confused:WOW! really? If that's the situation, then I am not diving a 7mm there. I do not think I can tolerate 40 degrees. And all this time I thought Dutch was cold. Thanks for the head's up.

Like I said, the first 20ft or so can get into the 70s. There's stuff to see at those depths, too.

I've probably done 10 dives in my 7mm at Brownstone and wasn't bothered. Like Soggy noted, there's some fun stuff (2x boats, truck, railroad cars, big catfish and lots and lots of eels) and is warm through summer. Below 20-25 it is 40's or below. I think I hit 39 at around 65 ft a couple yrs ago. Drysuit is preferred but like I said, a nice 7mm does the trick. Ed and Frank (and many more) have been doing a nice job building it up. The ziplines alone are worth it. Oh yeah, bring a good light!
