Did make it out to Tyler State Park April 23-25th. During a break in the thunderstorms was able to get in a couple of dives. Visability near the dam was 10-15', max depth was 35' with a theromcline about 20'. Water temps above the thermocline was about 68. I wore a 7mil semi dry and was quite comfortable. Below the thermocline temps was 58. Lots of fish, crappie, largemouth bass and an abundance of small perch. Best diving was around the earthen dam. Looks like they dredged from inside the lake to build the dam. Middle of the lake is pretty barren, fairly flat with very little vegitation. Lots of vegitation along the shore. Some tall growning grasses in 10-15' of water. Have to be carefull when around the shoreline as people are casting out into the water. We surfaced at one point and some guy on the shore said he had been casting toward our bubbles thinking we were fish! Thank goodness we were out of his casting range. There were boats on the lake so make sure you have your dive flag out (even though most of the boaters had no clue what the flag is for!)

We camped right by the lake and the entry was easy as the bottom was sandy. It looked like you'd sink in it as you entered but it was suprisingly firm.
