American visitor dies after beach activities
The Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF) is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an American visitor.

Police were informed of a 65-year-old male visitor who complained of feeling unwell while at Brownes Beach on Bay Street, St Michael. He had been scuba diving with his wife.

After returning to land, he reportedly complained of feeling unwell. An ambulance was summoned and the visitor was pronounced dead on arrival at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The deceased and his wife had arrived in Barbados today November 4, on board the cruise ship, Celebrity Summit. The two were staying in Room # 903 on the ship.

Police said the incident was incorrectly circulated by word-of-mouth as a drowning. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.

Investigations are ongoing.
