Crossover between SSI and PADI

Hi, my SSI instructor (course director) just told me that crossover from PADI IDC to SSI ITC isn’t as easy as it was before. Anyone have any info on this? I’m weighing my options between PADI and SSI and I always thought I would do PADI first and crossover to SSI, but if it doesn’t make any difference anymore, I’d prefer to do SSI first just out of convenience/preference.

Do you want to have both certs, PADI and SSI? If so, then do PADI first, and cross-over to SSI. Although SSI has raised its bar as of Jan 1, it is still easier than crossing over from SSI to PADI.
