Sounds like you have a good set up. I would try different fins till you got a pair that were comfy and work for you. I would ( but this is a personal opinion) buy a conventional octo and either go long hose and necklace or standard position (in the chest triangle area). I am diving the following
Poseidon Cyklon 5000 DIN first stage complete with two metal second stages ( I know I am going to die). Thought my octo should be the same quality as my first stage.
A Poseidon SPG, its got a cool yellow face and will handle 300 bar fills
An Apex back plate, harness and wing with single tank adapter, its nice to get some weight off the weight harness.
A DUI weight harness (I love this bit of kit) as I am in a dry suit I need to have quite a lot of weight 20lbs+ 6lb with the STA and Back plate. 26lb in total
A Scubapro everdry 4 dry suit, I like it, its my first dry suit and it fits me well. Being a 4mm compressed neoprene suit it takes a while to get it dry after a dive though.
5mm Otter Hood and 5mm Northern diver super stretch gloves.
IST Paddle fins with spring heel straps (cheap as chips). I like them.
Ancient Mares Seta mask with Prescription lens I installed myself. When it falls to bits I will cry
A Reel and DSMB of unknown manufacturer. Various cutting devices Knife and line cutter.
A couple of Faber 12 litre tanks DIN fitting one will handle 300 bar fills
A Cressi Archimedes 2 dive computer.
A Citizen digital Dive watch. It has a depth function
A analogue wrist mounted depth gauge of unknown manufacture (may be Mares). As all 3 sources of depth information seem to agree with each other I shall assume there all working or all 3 are broke!
This is what I use for single tank recreational diving in Bonnie Scotland.
