Green_Manelishi:
It doesn't. Where the evolutionist get into trouble is assuming the fossil record shows the small steps of observed adaptation leading to giant leaps into other "kinds" like dinosaurs to birds, terrestrial mammals into whales, aquatic mammals to terrestrial, etc.

so, Green, 65 million years ago, no birds or primates

today, birds and primates

how did we get from "no birds and primates" to "birds and primates"

where do they come from?

five million years ago, no humans

today, humans

where do they come from?

Soggy:
There was no 65 million years ago....There was only 6-8 thousand years ago. :rofl3:

Are there REALLY intelligent people out there who don't believe that the world is millions of years old??

Yes, read this thread and you will find many of them. It surprises and continues to confuse me, too. This thread was really an eye opener for me.

Visit icr.org for some good laughs. This Dr. John Morris, PhD guy is a lot like Dr. Phil... he knows everything about everything, goes by "Dr.", yet doesn't have a degree in a field even remotely related to the topics he is discussing.

JessH:
I find it rather amusing how offended some people get over the simple decleration of my beliefs.
I know what you mean. Weird isn't it.

I figure that their angst quotient is directly proportional to the fragility of their own beliefs and reveals an underlying confusion.

Pug:

Did you miss my earlier question?

H2Andy:
say, Pug, do you believe in a literal hell? or do you think the unsaved just go to sleep after death and never wake up?

and what is the Biblical basis for your belief?

or are you declining to disclose your beliefs on this topic?

:D

Uncle Pug:

ah! is it due to the fragility of your own belief and underlying confusion
that you didn't answer?

;)

Pug is intelligent, yet he thinks the world is much younger than that, if i can figure out what he believes

(Pug trick No. 1: never reveal what you believe; that way no one can debate you intelligently)

so the answer is yes.

faith is not about intelligence. it is irrational by definition. it operates at a totally different level.

AevnsGrandpa:
For those interested there is some good research information concerning Biblical creationism at http://www.icr.org
The site features such good research information as:
  1. Fighting Against the Forces of Darkness - A review of Dawkins' new book (in case you couldn't guess, they didn't like it)
  2. The Ascent of Darwin - An attempt to paint Charles Darwin as, "psychotic"
  3. Tough Guy Kicks Evolution Myth - Chuck Norris doesn't belive in evolution, he's quoted as saying, "There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Chuck Norris has allowed to live."
  4. Father of Slain (Columbine) Student Blames Evolution for Killings - Exploitive claptrap that they should be embarrassed to present, I know I would be.
etc., etc., etc.

And from Dinosaurmania, also from the ICR website:

At the school assemblies associated with the "Back to Genesis" seminars, I have asked the thousands of K-6 student’s questions such as: "Who has heard that dinosaurs lived millions of years ago?" "Who has heard that dinosaurs evolved?" All the hands go up in response to these questions. However, when I ask such questions as: "Did dinosaurs go on the Ark?" "Did dinosaurs live beside people?" not too many answer in the affirmative. Most of these children come from Christian homes.

All I can say is: “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings ...” Psalms 8:2.

Now thats funny.

There is (IIRC) a quote by GI3 about arguing with a pig.

It was once (IMO) slightly funny but after reading (skimming) this thread I feel that was a wise remark.

No

H2Andy:
faith is not about intelligence
