No, not one of every animal. Just one of every 'kind' of animal. DUH!

hey, he actually admits evolution is real

by only having to take each "kind" of animal (i.e. family or genera), Noah didn't have to take each animal.

he just, for example, took the proto-cat, which, once released 6,000 years ago, evolved into the cat, cheeta, panther, leopard, tiger, lion, lynx, ocelot, puma, etc. etc.

in 6,000 years

and Christians say evolution can't be proven!

Marvel:
Perhaps, just perhaps some of you who believe in science & cannot reconcile that believe with a simultaneous & harmonious believe in God might get something out of a book written by a scientist on the subject....
And perhaps those of you who believe in God but can not reconcile that belief with a simultaneous & harmonious belief in Science can also get something out of a book written by a christian who also happens to be a Scientist. There is zero reason that the two have to be mutually exclusive. Creationism and Evolution don't even have to contradict each other. God created man. Animals evolve. I don't see how those statements contradict each other. God also created earth, the animals, the trees and the heavens. Why does that mean animals can't evolve?

jess, i think i could believe anything so long as that belief is not directly contradicted by observable evidence

once that happens, i can ignore the evidence and cling to my belief or change my belief to conform with the evidence

if you do the first, beliefs in God and science are incompatible

under the second condition, i don't see why belief in God and science have to be mutually exclusive

I am SO glad that I'm an agnostic. It really helps put all of this into persepective!
:-) I just consider myself a Heathen. I even have a T-Shirt that says Heathen on it with a definition; something along the lines of "Someone who doesn't believe your god exists." It goes over great at the beginning of every semester when all of the christian youth groups are on campus trying to recruit. I find it rather amusing how offended some people get over the simple decleration of my beliefs. For the most part though it gets them to leave me alone. Then there are the ones that just want to convert me even more......

It doesn't. Where the evolutionist get into trouble is assuming the fossil record shows the small steps of observed adaptation leading to giant leaps into other "kinds" like dinosaurs to birds, terrestrial mammals into whales, aquatic mammals to terrestrial, etc.
