Cracks on USD SE2

My Conshell SE2 has some small cracks on the second stage where the hose meets the actual unit. Ive read these are very typical and generally dont present any problems. However to ensure that they dont get any worse would it be a good idea to try and reinforce that area? Say with a cable tie?

I know years back a recall was out on the Conshelf 21's (a cousin of the SE2)for the same issue. Someone on the board may know if the housings are still being replaced. You can find a SE2 2nd stage on Ebay for under $20.00, its just not worth the risk of failure. But just my 2 cents.
