I've noticed in the last year that sometimes when I wake up, I have trouble equalizing and have some ringing in one of my ears. It continues for a day or two and goes away. Seems to happen every couple months. I assume since it always starts after sleeping, it's probably because of CPAP use. Which kind of makes sense since it's pressurizing the airways in the nose and throat and all that's connected to the ears. Any other CPAP users ever experienced this?

Sleep with one every night. Haven’t heard of this.

Your CPAP pressure may need to be dialed back to a slightly lower pressure. I am not advocating you do this without discussing with your specialist, but if you wanted, you can most likely find online how to access the technician menu(s) for your make/model to play around with the pressure setting to figure out what works best for you.

That's something to talk with your sleep doc about. It could be a lot of things. Is there anything else associated with these events?

Best regards,

I'd go with everyone else's recommendation to talk to your pulmo specialist/Doc, but as a point of anecdotal evidence I only have trouble "equalizing" in the morning if I have a cold/infection etc. (15+ years CPAP use here). No ringing...

I'd definitely say talk with your doc about it.
