Cozumel Water Temperature in January and February

Andy, you're not alone in your desire to be warm. I just seem to be comfortable at roughly 80F & a bit lower but some of has to be due to the fact my pool rarely gets warmer than that plus I work outside a bit in the winter. I'm still comfortable in a short shirt T Shirt at 13 to 14 C.
 
Getting chilled on a dive is a definite buzzkiller for me. Once I am chilled it is difficult for me to think about anything other than how much longer it will be before I can get warm. I wear a thick diveskin and a 3 mil shorty on every dive year round around Cozumel.
 
For me, if the air temp is hot, I am hot and I can tolerate water temperatures longer. If the air temperature is cooler the same temperature water will feel colder to me.

I agree with this. Especially on the second dive after being on the boat in the wind.
Activity level also matters. In Cozumel, I'm basically still for the hour of the dive. In our freezing quarry here, I'm swimming for the half an hour or so. My body doesn't keep super warm when I'm not moving.
