Ok, I'm curious... what are ya'll doing to these eels to get such expressions and face to face pictures? It's almost like they are posing for the shot or have a look like you might make a tasty meal. They are awesome never the less.

Patience and allowing the eel to be curious is how I get the close ups. For every close up I have dozens and dozens of bad photos and eel butts. I have had two spotted eels in the past that were having bad days and were very aggressive so I always keep that in mind when I try to get close. You have to read their mood first.
I also try to be on their level physically or below. Above them seems to make them more nervous.

All taken on a shore dive in front of Hotel Cozumel/SCC. I was wishing that sharp tail came up with whatever it shoved its' head in the hole to find, but no such luck!
