Some of you may be aware that internet service on the island has been unreliable on the whole dang island and the Villa Aldora has been no exception.

Our solution is to put in both DSL and Cable in our control room and use which ever one is working best on any given day. I am carrying down the equipment on Wednesday and it will be in operation by this weekend.

You are VERY WISE. The internet service at Hotel Cozumel while I was there 3 weeks ago was just terrible. It took about 3/4 hour to check on my flight home.

That is what I have resorted to as well - extra expense but since neither provider can be relied on 100% of the time, I have both Cablemas and Telmex internet - there are still occasions when both are down, but not as often!

In our shop we have DSL and radio internet and feed them both to a router that uses the one that is working.

And to add irony, it's strange when we see the Huge fiber optic cable laying ships docked in Coz.

What is even stranger is when you see a cable laying ship on the bottom of the sea floor.

I keep seeing wall plug in WiFi boosters advertised here in the USA. Is this something that will work there - for instance in your room if the main router is aways away from your room? They are very reasonable (IMHO) $45-$80.

Just delivered a big basket of Netgear boxes, both cable and DSL. Should be on line by Friday

PS Great service from Amazon

And great response from a business owner to a customer issue!
