Cozumel in December 2009

Del Mar Aquatics is the name I think. Difficult to search for info here with that name. Been there and gone with them twice with a group. We had a large boat to ourselves once; shared a large boat the other trip. I don't know if they have small boats. If you dive with them you can have a locker close to the dock, byo lock, otherwise - hump the gear up over the bridge spanning the road, then a good hike to the room building and upstairs. Seems like I toted mine back to the room for better drying on the balcony last time anyway; no big deal to leave my boat bag on the cafe floor during a meal going or returning. The big boat dives were fine.

Breakfasts are great. Lunch good. Menu gets old fast if you do the all inclusive but it was an economical way to get bottled water & other beveages. Consider the dinners a bonus you don't have to eat and go to town. Lovely grounds, nice pool, wireless internet in the lobby, no room safes.

Will be there Dec. 27 - Jan 3rd staying at Hotel Cozumel and diving with Dive Paradise. I just got back from the island on Friday and booked my return trip the same day. Life is unbearable for me if I don't have a trip there to look forward to! I think I may need to go to Cozumel/diving rehab.... on second thought- naaawwwww. :snicker: ( I better start house hunting instead!)

I am planning on a cruise trip leaving Miami Dec. 27. Will have one day of dive each in Cozumel, Belize, Isla Roatan, and Grand Cayman. Haven't booked it yet. Debating on doing cruise or just go and stay in one place.

I'll be at the Iberostar Dec 5th-12th. Sounds like a few others will be there then as well. Did you decide on your dive op? Dressel prices seem reasonable if paying in advance but have no idea how they are as an operator.

Just booked my flights and will be there 12/14 - 12/25.
Will stay in the downtown area. no diving arrangements yet.

Can any of the Coz's wizards let me know which of the operations that offer smaller boats/groups will pick-up a diver from the downtown area?
