RobertSDF:
I am not clear on damage to the passenger ferry pier--is it ok? Any word on when the passenger ferries might be running? I am trying to get home to Cozumel.

My travel agent said it was damaged and ferries not running.

Very informative. It is nice of you to print this detailed report .Thanks
Yes it was, but did you really need to quote the whole message?

The passenger ferries are running today and the dolphins from Chankanaab swim better than me. The best info I have says that Chankanaab is gone, just a spot at the edge of the jungle now. I can answer other questions here.

God, I hope they let the dolphins out or otherwise provided for their safety.

I was thinking the same thing. I sure hope they were taken care of properly.

Thanks for the info, it was good news and bad news. Glad to hear about the ferries, you say the passenger ferries are operating ? But, I too, hope the dolphins were taken care of, how sad.

Thank you, Dave Dillehay, for the update. It is so hard to hear in the United States how things are in Cozumel. I am having problem finding images and/or videos. There is so much from Cancun, and now Florida, that finding anything specific from Cozumel is difficult. If you know of an image site, please post it. Your details are appreciated.

I am wondering if you know if David Tovar from Sea Scuba is all right? His shop is right off the square down a side street. Also, wondering if you have run into Bazooka, a dive master. Not sure which company he now works with.

You mentioned the plane and the international pier. How is LeCeiba just near there? We have stayed there each of eight years that we have visited Cozumel. The hotel staff and waiters have always been so friendly and wonderful. Certainly hope they are safe as well.

Did the water do damage to the church downtown near the square? It was so beautiful and always seemed to have services and people in it.

Cozumel is certainly in our thoughts and prayers these days. It is the kind of place that captures ones heart.

I read somewhere online that the dolphins were moved to hotel swimming pools prior to the hurricane.

The island updates are truly appreciated.

Is the north hotel zone accessible? Does anyone know how the Country Club Estates area fared? Also, any information on Sol Cabanas del Caribe would be welcome. The people there are like family to us.
