If anyone on the board is going to be in Cozumel in a few weeks and would like to meet up LMK. I will most likely be diving the afternoons and spoke to German who will accommodate.

@nuts4corals glad to hear you are gonna help out! It is a great way to spend your afternoon after boat diving in the morning.

After the course there wasn’t a “fun” dive we did that we didn’t end up using some of what German had taught us in attempting to fix / reattach broken corals we found on the reefs, especially in the swim throughs.

I cannot wait to get back to Cozumel and volunteer again.

German is a super passionate and just great and fascinating guy! I met him many moons ago, when he ran Caribbean Argonauts, across the road from Blue Angel (when lovely Pam Linton was still with us). Was sad that he wasn't on the island in my 2 most recent trips there, when I brought my son along, who's become as crazed about Coz diving as I am. Take the course, people. You'll feel good about yourself, and play a small but important role in keeping the reef thriving...

I dove with German years ago also with Caribbean Argonauts. We also took a special trip over to the mainland for a couple of days. There were three of us and German. We made it as far south as Boca Paila and have some wonderful memories of that trip. He was our tour guide and it was a special memory. I hope to catch up to German again some day. I also have lost track of Juan Carlos Realpoza. I think that is the spelling. Almost made it to Cuba with Juan Carlos lol "a long short story" a long time ago.

I believe he was with German at that time. Cozumel is so special !!!

Where was that? I have been staying at Blue Angel since the 1980's through four owners and name changes and I don't remember a dive op across the street. Javier and Emma Segura (the original owners, back when it was La Perla) still live in the house across Melgar from the hotel. Are you speaking of a previous Blue Angel location?

If I remember it was across or near the VillaBlanca in the 1980's.

The original Blue Angel dive shop was located next to Papa Hogs, and operated out of a semi basement where Scuba Mau is once again occupying.
