Make sure that you rent a car and go to the East side of the island. Mescalitos has the worlds best shrimp. Coconuts and the rasta bar are also must do places.
My wife and I will be there April 1st - 8th. Have a good time, maybe we'll see you around.
I would stay in Cozumel, Going to the mainland will cost you a full day and wear you out. I'd recomend going to the mainland sometime but dedicate a couple of days or more on another trip. Its been many years but I really enjoyed diving Akumal when I went there. Of course I imagine the entire area has changed since I was last there.
Since this is your first trip to Coz you will have all you can do to dive and party on the island.

You are showing up Sunday, if you are not too tired from traveling, I would recomend going to town Sunday night. This is when the locals come out and there is usually some sort of local entertainment on the square. Look for us in Dorados De Villa on the right side of the square. (I hope it is still there) In my humble opinion they have the best fajitas on the island.

See Ya.

Well with a little help I did finally post a pic. Next maybe I'll find out how to post a thumbnail pic like what Clyderyde sent us. :) Small steps, Small steps.

Do not miss out on the best mojito's in Cozumel. Go to the El Casino on 5th about a block and a half south of the Square. Alex makes smokin' drinks!!!!
