I land in Cozumel tomorrow afternoon. I'm sure this has been asked before but I couldn't find it with the search function. Do I just grab any cab at the airport and ask the driver to take me to Blue Angel Resort? Is it a fixed price?

Thanks

There aren't individual cabs right at the airport. Just minivans. Well, not really minivans. Vans with seats. You buy a ticket at the ticket counter for a set price and you'll be directed to which minivan you belong to. Or you can hike off the airport grounds and try and catch a cab. If you're a first time visitor, get the minivan for less fuss and muss.

It was reported in another thread recently that the fare has gone up to $10 US from airport to Blue Angel via shuttle vans.
I believe if you pay in pesos it may be a buck or so cheaper.
Have fun in COZ and at the BA, man I am missing it.

When you exit customs, go directly to the ticket booth. It's inside the terminal, to your right (toward the restrooms), against the outside wall. Don't talk to anyone except the lady behind the glass selling the tix so you aren't waylaid by a timeshare shark!

Yes. blue steal is correct that all of the fares were increased during the fall.

I was there in Nov. We'd heard the taxi was a fair amount higher at the airport than outside the airport. We walked our bags down the sidewalk (1/4 mile) at the most and saved $8.00 USD each way.

Just follow ddeborahdelamar's directions, repeated below, and end up under the sign shown at the above link.

Ignore the timeshare folks. They will even try to "help" while you are standing in the shuttle line! Like with Medusa - don't make eye contact...

If your fare to BA is $10, tromping out to the taxi's not going to save you more than $5, TOPS.

Have a great time. Estoy celos!

Brian,

Follow Deb's instructions. Just got back from Blue Angel. Shuttle was fast and easy. $10 cost per person.

One other thing to add...we rented a Jeep on our last day. No diving so it was a perfect time for sight seeing. Less Pay guys said we could drop off the Jeep and he'd ferry us to the airport. Figured it would be a great way to avoid another taxi. But the 3 of us + luggage wouldn't fit and they conveniently didn't have another vehicle to ferry us to the airport so it didn't work out. No biggie, cab was less than $10 and it was a good way to use up my remaining pesos. I probably still have a few hundred lying around now even....

just my 2 cents

The strangest thing was having our fellow van riders enjoying adult beverages from the bar outside the airport DURING the van ride!!! Enjoy the Blue Angel - I hope you have an amazing time (like we did)!
