Don't know about Tekila, but if you get interested in muck diving and looking or critters, there is a shore dive in front of Hotel Coz and Scuba Club. You can see some interesting sea life there...but very different from the boat dives.I heard there is a great shore dive site called Tekila. Anyone know of this location ?
Second that on all points. I have done that dive many times, as I always stay at Blue Angel; I can decide to do it and be in the water in minutes. It doesn't replace boat diving but it's fun in the afternoon and at night.I like the shore dives at Blue Angel. Entry and exit are easy, tanks can be had for a decent price.
Along the sting ray prison there is quite a variety of critters, eels, fish, hermit crabs, lion fish, etc.
As you head south towards villa blanca there are several small corral heads with lots of small fish.
Depth is shallow 18-20' and you can hover on those corral heads as long as you want.
Boat traffic is light and not at all next to the pen.
Current usually flows from south to north. Most of the dives I've done the current has not been so strong that I've could not stay in one spot to watch stuff.
Agreed here. If you are not staying at the Blue Angel but in town, just take a taxi down there. Cost probably has gone up to maybe 80 pesos +/- a few for the afternoon. It doesn't replace boat diving but it's fun in the afternoon and at night.
I can assure you that Eva has no problem with it.Not sure if the owner would mind, but when I go there I always enjoy a coupe of drinks and tapas during happy hour post dive, watch the sunset, then taxi back to town.
