You'll have to park at least a few, probably closer to 5 blocks away from the terminal pier, on the street. If you are hauling stuff drop it off with a family member then go park. You'll probably have better luck to the north than to the south.

Personally, if I was leaving the car for the day to take the ferry, I think I'd just take a cab.

Parking is easy depending on the hour! If you are leaving by 9am you are able to park on Calle 2 norte, Calle 4 norte, easiest between 10 and 5. Or somewhere on Av. 5 norte. Shouldn't be a problem! Just don't leave any valuables in the car! And remember where you parked! Don't park in a red zone!

Have a great time in Playa!

You're in Coz, Keep It Simple Stupid :)
Take the cab, no stress, no mess and its cheap.
We had a rental but when we went to Playa Del Carmen we took the cab to the ferry dock, about 5 bucks US for a van for the 6 of us and dive gear for 3 of us.
That way you have less to worry about and your car is safe.
HAVE FUN !! Worry Less !! and Dive Dive Dive :dazzler1:

That was my first thought, too, but they are staying at the Iberostar, so the cab ride is not that cheap.

Two years ago i parked in the wrong area. Went shopping for about 30 minutes. Went to where car was parked and no car. Two hours later after getting chewed out by the Police i was able to get my car back. Total cost 65.00. Had to pay the tow truck driver. He was not very friendly. I would take a cab to avoid any problems.

You have to look out for those red curbs, and some of them don't get repainted very often, so you have to look close. The locals know them all, so when you see an available space that looks too good to be true, examine the curb VERY closely to see if it has ever been painted red.

I was parked in a white zone, but there was a sign i didnt see. It was for busses. Right across from Palmeras resturant by ferry pier. My bad.
