Looking for a refresher course after a 10 yr hiatus, equipment tune up and good diving sites reccommandations in NE......

Lobster and scallops beds sites also welcome.......:D

From what I've seen, the guys are super helpful at Burlington Scuba and the training they conduct appears to be first rate.

About the other question, there are some good scallop beds in the area of.... where was that.... Darn! I can never remember the location unless I'm on someone's boat.... ;)

What size boat do you have? That might help me recall.... :D

Otherwise, Fran Marcoux runs great scallop charters out of Gloucester on his boat "Daybreaker". 6 to 8 divers maximum. Super pleasant group. He lets you dive the way you want to dive.... and puts you right on the beds.... or into lobsters.

If you get on his email list, Fran will send you periodic updates of his charter schedule. It should be coming out soon.

No website, but his numbers are:

DiverDMD...I am an Independent Instructor and teach my courses at the Somerville YMCA. I would be happy to conduct a refresher with you. United Divers in Somerville is a good place to get your gear serviced. If you have all your own gear I would do the refresher for free. If you would like to contact me you can e-mail mike@baystatescubaschool.com.

I deal with Cape Ann Divers, Undersea Divers and Atlantic Divers on a regular basis. They are all reputable shops. For equipment tune ups Cape Ann Divers deals with ScubaPro, Atomic and Sherwood. Atlantic Divers services and sells ScubaPro, Zeagle and Sherwood. Undersea Divers is an Aqualung, Apeks, SeaQuest, Suunto dealer.

Cape Ann Divers is great for a quick stop by on your way to a dive site, often times divers will call them with conditions for various sites in town. They also offer have an unofficial shore dive every weekend, folks meet up there and go diving. (never been)

If you are ever interested in meeting up drop me a PM. I live on Cape Ann and try and go diving at least 3 times a week when I'm home.

DiverDMD....I can still do the refresher for you but there will be a small fee just for the equipment. Cape Ann is a great shop for Charters, and a great place to stop and get fills before shore diving up there.

Thanks guys for the info.......

Lewis, I would like to meet you and pick your brain about the local sites, I will PM you.....

Mike, I will take you up on your offer of the refresher and rental, I guess the best way would be to PM you too.....

Ciao.....
