$450 per class. Didn't include dives or gear.

I've seen prices for Advanced Nitrox/Deco Procedures classes run between $99 - $1000. Yes, that is $99!!! Find your prospective instructors and discuss their fees so you have an idea of what to save for. Remember, you may have other expenses like quarry fees, hotel, food, gas (car), back & deco gasses, etc. Your prospective instructors should be able to give you a ball park figure for those expenses. Good luck.

$300ish per with my instructor, but that might be because i bundled with apprentice & full.

Thanks guys my instructor is right about average on price. I was just interested in what other were paying. As for the gear I've been gathering gear for about four months. I've got a few more small items to go. Thanks again.

mine cost $200 per day. quickest we could have done it was in 3 days and thats how long it took us. gas bill was around 150-200 and i had to pay for his trips to the springs out of pensacola at $25 per trip. well worth the money and would do it again in a heartbeat.

we wouldve dove in the ocean but the weather was terrible for an entire week and the boats wernt running

They really should offer the intro to tec class for free. Like crack dealers.

Agreed, the shop that sponsors it should pay you to take intro to tech, like seed money on a 10K investment. :rofl3:

I think the course was around $700 for Adv Nitrox & Deco. But, I reiterate the comments of the previous posters. You will spend so much more on the gear and dives that a hundred or so on a course will not matter. It also depends on the environment where you intend to dive after the course. If you plan to dive in the ocean (or Great Lakes), then don't do all of your dives in a quarry. Of the eight dives I did for the course, four were in the Atlantic and four were in a quarry.

Also, the shop that I trained with had a philosophy for this type of advanced diving instruction:
* The student needs to interview the instructor
* The instructor needs to interview the student
* If the instructor and student feel that they are a good match, then go for it!

My shop also would match online prices (much appreciated with a doubles reg, better reel and SMB, doubles ring, manifold & bands, tech computer, ...). The $$ I saved on equipment was equivilent to the course fee. Plus, they gave me free fills for dives I did for the course (they didn't advertise or actually say this, but I was never charged for fills ... over $200 in nitrox & O2 fills when it was all said and done).

An added advantage to the ocean dives was I got to know the folks at Olympus in Morehead City, NC. They are a top notch outfit that offers tech charters. Ocean diving at this level is much different than quarry diving. Definitely train in the environment you plan to dive.

About $1000 here in Hawaii for both.
