Before you go and spend a bundle either in part or whole on cave diving lessons and gear. You need to ask yourself why you want to do this type of diving or is it a means to another objective and how committed to it will you become. Cave diving is not like other forms of diving where you can stop for a period of time and then pick it up again expecting to have the same sort of profficiency or accept a lessor level of currency until you get it back together. This type of diving demands constant skill confirmation and total committment. As far as cost is concerned yes expect to pay about $1200-1500 on training plus gas fills and lodging, travel and entrance fees and any rentals you may need.

Amd as far as being a firediver lol, I use to work in Abbottsford with Conair Aviation building fire bombers. A diver will not fit all that well into a CL215 or a Turbo Firecat's watertank
