In john Randall's book "Coastal Fishes of Oman" - he also id's that moray as Leopard (Scuticaria Tigrina) - we've seen lots of them in Oman!

We've had a 7' moray on the extreme inland edge of our reef for about two weeks, which is unusual, so could that be related? I don't suppose morays live-birth or stay with their eggs until the youngsters hatch, do they?

Sounds like a grey moray to me. They grow to around 12" so it was probably an adult
