I'm also interested in getting a D1 but am concerned about using a yoke adapter. Getting DIN tanks from dive shops and tour operators in the Caribbean appears to be very impractical. Just as impractical as taking your own tanks on dive trips. Yoke tanks are probably the only viable option.
My question for Jim is how much exactly does the yoke adapter extend the reg toward your head? From the pictures I'm guessing about an inch? Do you simply wear the tank a bit lower in BC to keep it from hitting your head or does it just not protrude that much.
