I just purchased a Conshelf 20 regulator on ebay.. couln't pass up the price.. i know the seller so i know it was taken care of.

i plan on having the reg serviced by my LDS and getting it overhauled.

just wanted to see what the thoughts were on this reg. This is going to be my first reg as i just recently was certified. i plan on upgrading to a Zeagle Flathead eventually, but figured as a starter reg i couln't pass up the price for a complete reg set w/ octo and gauges.

thanks,

The whole Conshelf series are workhorse regs with good performance. It uses the same kits as the Titan/Conshelf XIV, so your LDS should have no trouble servicing it. The only change I make to such regs is to ditch the plastic 2nd stages for one of the brass 2nds, but that's personal preference.

I bought a used Conshelf 20 in 1991 as part of a complete set of equipment. I have owned the Conshelf 20, 21, SE2, Tech Sea, and Aqua Lung Calypso. For rec. limits the 20 will perform well and is very dependable. After using the Calypso for a little less than a month I find it easier to breath.

thanks for the info.. should have the reg by the end of the week so i will be getting it serviced then.
