hi , I get to see quite a few moray and conga eels when I go diving ( up to 50 - 60 cm)
wondered if there was any good technics for getting them . They are usually in thier respective holes and nooks and crannies. Also , are they any good to eat or not?

Dive at night

R..

edit: Ok, the point is that eels (at least conga eels) are nocturnal feeders. At night they'll come out and swim over the bottom and they're easy to approach and harpoon (assuming you are allowed to do this locally).

The deeper you go the bigger they get.

Conga eels are good eating. I don't know about morays.

Thanks for the tip . I was doubtfull of morays but I reckon I can get an eel.
wil have to be carefulat night though , the local coastgards get a bit suspicious if they see divers skulking around the rocky coves at night ( if you get my drift )

That's the fishing method for catfish not eels :D

It works with anything that bites :D
Right I see what you are getting at but really ... you let something bite your hand? does a catfish bite hurt , I dont know if they have teeth or not but I would think that anything that hunts and bites ( Predatory ) is going to have teeth . Even with 5 mm gloves on , is that really wise mate ?
