Okay, your pic illustrates the confusion - as Belize and the Honduran Bay Islands are on the Central American edge of the Caribbean, and - for marketing reasons, the travel industry promotes them as Caribbean. They even do that with Florida and The Bahamas, which are not even close to the Caribbean Sea.
 
Belize is in Central America, which is part of North America. Caribbean refers to the islands in the Caribbean Sea. Belize should never have been lumped with the other islands, since it is not an island. We don't include Honduras (i.e., Roatan) in the Caribbean section, even though it is on the Caribbean Sea, as well.
