Does anyone have experience renting a condo in Cozumel? I'd love to be able to cook when I want to. My travel plans are mid-November.

Please let me know where you can recommend. Thanks.

Condos are great if you HAVE to be on the ocean, but they can get steep pricewise, even in low season.
It is easy to find a home intown to stay at, that way you can cook, and on the nights you don't want to cook, you can walk to a resturant!
A 2-3 bedroom house with a pool is usually $1,000 to 1200 per week
I have a great home, just built in the Corpus Christi neighborhood, and since it is so new, I am renting it cheap...email me if interested, I have photos and openings for Thanksgiving and Christmas 2004!!!

Welcome to Scubaboard. Is your home on a web site?

Stayed at Cantamar several years ago. Decent place. Also stayed at Puesto Del Sol several times. They are nice. We had to grab a taxi each morning to the Aldora Pier.

NO --it is that new!
we have just gotten it furnished and the little this and that's taken care of, so we are now looking for marketing options.

here are a couple of photos. Our pool area is getting decorative additions at the moment, but the pool has a waterfall and there is an outside rinse tank and shower.

How many beds/bedrooms/what kind of beds?

BTW, looking for a 1BR. Has anyone stayed at the Cantamar before? Is it close to town? Thoughts?

I've also looked at Caribe Blu, but again, the food costs are what are drawing me to looking for a condo.

I lived at the Cantamar Condos from 1994-1999. It is a very nice place, in the exclusive near northside and much closer to town than Caribe Blu. Right on the water with great snorkeling, and some dive shops will pick you up at the dock there. For the record, I have absolutely no economic interest in Condominios Cantamar.

But if cooking is your main attraction there are many small homes, off the beach, that can be rented at less cost. Others have mentioned some of the agencies that rent out homes, but a google search under Cozumel Homes will show many more.

Good Luck

less than 4 blocks from ocean front, and also walking distance to town. It is also about a block and a half from "Los Chilangos" which is a small resturant located in a family home with $30 and $40 peso lunches...GREAT for quick and good after-diving nourishment. (opened for lunch only)
We have 3 bedrooms all with Queen sized beds, AC throughout the entire house, and fully equipped kitchen. As I mentioned before, there is an outdoor shower and rinse tank to drop your gear before jumping into the pool!
humm...que mas?

Thanks for all the info. Sounds like for two people diving, an AI is probably better for proximity to diving, etc... Although, I'm definitely going to file all this information away for future trips with more people. There are some beautiful places out there.

FWIW, Cozumel is a small island. As long as you stay south of town, virtually all the dive sites are close.

Outside of my new Casa,
I do have many other rentals in-town, condo, beach front homes, everything, as I work at Cozumel Living. We are a real estate office, but have come into rentals as some of our clients who have purchased have asked us to manage their properties.
So if you awnt, just email me with what it is that you are looking for (ie. 2 bedroom, oceanfront with pool...or house in town with pool, and AC) And I can set you up with a few options.
