Conditions at Casino Point?

The moment has finally arrived! The wife and I will be arriving tomorrow (Friday) on Catalina Island! Been diving lately? Any insight on the conditions? We hope to be at the park shortly before the fill station opens if anyone is going to be around.

You are probably here on Catalina already, but may have access to the Internet from your hotel so I'll respond here.

I walked down to the pier yesterday and could see the bottom in Avalon Bay at depths at least to 20 feet. That's a good sign. Haven't heard from any divers who have been in the park the past few days. A buddy (Vicki) and I were going to dive yesterday, but I decided to discipline myself and get as much editing on my Belize-Honduras footage done as I could. It was a very productive day and I'll finish that today. So nice to see all those warm water critters!

Will be at the park tomorrow and Sunday. Will post conditions after my dives tomorrow.

That's right Jason... you'd better leave my baby alone! I saw her "first." Conditions were reasonably good this weekend after weeks of fair to no diving. Glad you enjoyed your visit.

By the way, conditions are looking good for THIS weekend (Feb 5/6). Vis seems to be improving. Sun still out and warm.

See you on Saturday, if everything works out. Dr. Bill can you find out if they will be letting anyone dive the Valiant I am 0/2 on trying to get a permit.

Valiant was a go last weekend so I expect you will be able to this weekend as well. Stupid Bowl will keep some boaters away. They don't usually issue permits until November and stop in late spring.

You are not going to believe this Jetfixer called the Harbor master and they haven't decided if they will allow diving on the Valiant this weekend. Maybe you have a couple of connections?
