I'm considering doing one of the Bradenton Beach shore dives (Sugar Barge, Spanish Rocks, Third Pier) this coming Sunday (Oct 14) .

Can someone provide me with the current conditions in that area? Or maybe point me to a place I can get more immediate information when the time come to go diving?

Thanks

For the best up to date, accurate beach/viz conditions on Bradenton Beach, call Pete @ SeaTrek Scuba (941)779-1509. SeaTrek is located directly across the street from the sugar barge"Regina".

let me know if you go, ill gladly join you

The actual phone number is: (941) 779-1506

But thanks for the info.

Is the diving better at a particular spot at 3 piers? I seen a couple divers between first and second. First being north.
Thanks,
Doug

I haven't dove "third pier". I was kinda hoping you'd post a dive report afterwards.

hey - for directions, use a link to the Insider Info thread thats stickied and has info for Venice Beach in the second post. It is a standard for continuity which makes searching for information, etc., easier in the future as threads fall into archive land.

I've got to do some packing and moving to our new abode this weekend or I'd be coming up... I'm very anxious to dive as its been weeeeeks!

I will if I go this weekend.

Doug

My wife and I are complete novices - only 4 dives after OW Certification.

I've read on these boards about the Sugar Barge and Spanish Rocks, but also read about Thrid Pier in the DeLoache "Underwater Florida" book. The are all near each other on Anna Maria. DeLoache talks about going out 50' from the end if the Peir where the first ledge is.

Not sure which site we will dive at, but we'll probably be down there on Sunday sometime. Right now, no specific plans for time as our weekend is a bit 'iffy'.
