The high end ScubaPros will do it too (G2 and Galileo Luna/Sol) - if I remember correctly.

i have the same situation. I wanted the perdix ai but found a deal on a suunto steel and two pods first. I will be diving it soon with my daughter who will be getting certified on our next trip. I agree with the previous poster about stressing gas management with them and making them independently safe. I look at this as a way for me to check her easily and ensure she is exercising good planning and situational awareness. I don't even plan to let her know I can see her tank pressure.

I know that you probably already know this but make sure that the pods have the little grey circle on them, indicating that they've been serviced in accordance with the recall from a year or so ago.

Yep. The guy I bought from said they were both fix. nope, only one was. I sent the other off and got it back a few weeks ago.

The dual monitoring feature is nice, but as already described has some inherent limitations and is not widely available. Depending on your need and style of diving, here is another thought:

I have a customer couple that always dives together, and each has a button gauge on their 1st stage in addition to their hoseless wrist computer. They feel if there was ever any transmitter or computer failure, they at least have a reliable buddy that can eyeball the tank pressure and get them through the dive without having to call it. Yes, the tiny gauge is not very precise, but they find it sufficient for their back up plan.

I can tell you from experience the pelagic wireless transmitters (FCC-MH8A) will not work like you want. Your computer needs to be within an 8ft sphere of the transmitter. Underwater wireless signals get killed. Testing on the surface will make it seem like the perfect solution but once underwater everything goes awry. Nothing beats hand signals and physically checking your partners SPG. Wireless is great though before purchasing I’d pose this question to you...Do you want a dive computer with AI? Can I return the second transmitter if it doesn’t work like I thought? Am I willing to purchase a second dive computer with AI for my partner? Lastly the longest distance transmitter out is the new Aqualung wireless transmitter version 2.0 and works with any computer that uses FCC-MH8A broadcasting transmitters.

Where did you find this information? I see no mention of range...

I never thought about a two-person computer until a couple of years ago when were we were at a dive resort and there were 2 brothers on our boat. The younger brother seemed to have some form of Autism (Asperger's?) and the elder brother stuck close to him and took care of equipment and led the dive. The dive op insisted that everyone wear a computer but I don't think that the younger brother was able to read or use it. In such situations a 2-person computer would be a very good thing indeed.

I know this from experience and the fact the new chipset being used is the latest and greatest.

He never mentions range. Are you saying the signal being transmitted is somehow stronger? Experience? No one seems to be sellling this except Simply Scuba in the UK, and the Simply Scuba website won't ship it out of the EU.....
