I haven't dived Orcas -- I've read about a couple of sites there, but they sounded pretty current-sensitive, and involved long surface swims.

The San Juans are better done from boats, as I understand it.

Yes, the currents were something to behold. My wife and I were Kayking there last August. We stayed at the Doe Bay Resort. I had the chance to do some free diving in my 3 mm, boots, hood, and gloves.

I only lasted 10 minutes (Brrr) but I did not have to go far to see some amazing life and beautiful kelp. Ever since then, I've been dreaming of returning one day with my gear.

He might have those too. He did say the photo only showed about half of the stuff. Yes, definitely a cool garage.
