im planning to be in ft lauderdale april20th to the 26th.can anyone recommend a good priced hotel..im looking at the days inn right now..does anyone know how close to the beach this hotel is..thanks..i managed to get airline tickets for 149.00 return..from detroit michigan..would love to hook up with some of you who know the area to do some diving

My research group will be at the Yankee Clipper for about $112 per night (all taxes incl.)through Resortaccess.com - they are helpful and cheaper than the conference organizers can manage. Lots of other hotels starting at $96/room/night for your dates (Holiday Inn, FL Beach).

The other thing is, is that there is a big Scubaboard party that weekend north bout 6 hours....look in the private trips for the Ginnie Springs trip

$149.00 round trip from Detroit to Ft. Lauderdale??? No wounder we're loosing money.
There are many good hotels along the beach and as Jenny said if you do a search you should find all the info you'll need.
Have a good trip and let us in the Florida Conch Divers section know when you get here. Maybe we can all get together and get wet.
If you don't mind staying in Lauderdale-by-the-sea ther eis a nice hotel cheap, unlimited shore diving right out the back of the hotel Walking distance to good food and not very far from the charters.

i managed to find a great deal..i will be arriving april29th and will be staying till may the 6th..will be staying at the best inn on ocean drive..got the room with 2 queen size beds for 46.00 a night..now thats what i call doing my homework searching the net lol..look forward to meeting some of you for shore dives..im bringing all my equipment except my tank..

Sounds like a GREAT rate. Where exactly is that? We have people coming in all the time and I'd like to give them that option. Make sure you post a trip under "private" for the date(s) you can dive, if we don't already have something going. Let us know where that hotel is and we'll give you the intel on where to dive, get fills, etc.
