Dr. Bill, I don't know what you mean by gently lapping waves but when we were there they were crashing up to near the middle set of stairs! TeqP and I did one dive but Marian decided to pass after watching an instructor get a ride in the Maytag and his two students get knocked around pretty good. She also decided since we were not going to dive, we may as well take the early ferry home and get something else done.
I’m glad Tina and Sean were able to get in a few dives, conditions must have calmed down a bit. Nice pictures Sean! How did your other buddy do?
Dr. Bill, Since there were no students when TeqP and I dived, I decided to explore the sand flats and see if we see anything cool. Not much but I did see several very large Calico Bass, the biggest I’ve seen an a long time, just sort of nesting in small outcroppings of grass. There were maybe a dozen of these monster Calicos, each in it’s own nest. Are they actually nesting or is this behavior normal? Due to the roughness of the exits, I left the video onshore so I don’t have any tape. We plan on returning next weekend to tape these behemoth Calicos.
