We're pleased to have the Dive Safety Officer with Moody Gardens, Jake Emmert, as our speaker this month on Thursday, October 15. He's going to share with us how Moody Gardens utilizes diving as a tool for animal husbandry such as animal feeds and exhibit scrubs. He'll also talk about the new activities about underwater education and dive shows that are coming as their renovation progresses. Although the majority of diving activities occur in their Caribbean and South Pacific exhibits, they also dive Kelp, North Pacific, South Atlantic and Rainforest exhibits. They have great opportunities for dive volunteers to participate and we can't wait to hear what they have in store and how we might get involved.

We're schooling once again at Jake's at 2944 Chimney Rock Road. They have a room in the back reserved for us so wander in anytime after about 6:30 pm to get a drink, meet a new friend or reconnect with an old one. As usual, the meeting officially starts at 7:30 pm and we can stay as late as we need to. One important note: Please park in the Balfour's parking lot across the alley.

See you there!
